THE 3.1 MILE ROUTE WILL TAKE PLACE ALONG THE ICONIC CHARLES RIVER IN BOSTON. THE RACE WILL CONCLUDE WITH A FINISHER FESTIVAL AT THE HATCH MEMORIAL SHELL WITH FUN ACTIVATIONS FROM SPONSORS AND PARTNERS.

The Turner Trot is a 5K run/walk taking place on Saturday August 26th and benefitting the Justin Turner Foundation's mission.
The Start Line will be at the DCR Hatch Memorial Shell along the Charles River in Boston, MA.
8:00 AM EST
The course will be 5k (3.1 mile).
We will be measuring the course for accuracy but this is not a USATF Certified course.
Yes. Starting at 8:00 am, each wave will take approx. 2 mins. Please line up according to your pace.
We are asking for all participants to finish by 9:30 am which is an approx. 30min/mile pace.
Registration for the 2023 Turner Trot, will close on Friday, August 25th, 2023 at 7pm or if the maximum combined field of participants has been reached. Late registration will be available at Packet Pick-Up and on Race Day ONLY if the run has not already sold out.
Packet pick up will be held on Friday August 25th - Cisco Brewers in Seaport from 3-7 pm. 85 Northern Avenue, Boston, MA. We will also have race day pickup available!
You MUST bring a valid photo ID to receive your packet.
Your packet will include your bib and 2023 Turner Trot Shirt.
Lost or forgotten bibs will not be replaced if picked up the day before.
There will be an aid station with water on the 5K race course and additional aid stations and water at the Finish Line. There will be restrooms available.
Gear check will NOT be provided for this run. We suggest keeping identification on you at all times for safety purposes as well as a credit/debit card for any finisher festival purchases.
Unfortunately, strollers are not permitted on the course. We encourage family/friends to meet you at the finisher festival at the Hatch Memorial Shell.
YES. Up until August 15th 2023 you may request to defer your registration until 2024 with a doctor’s note to prove medical need. You must provide a copy of your doctor's note to our Customer Service team prior to August 15th. A deferral under any other circumstance will NOT be accepted. You could also select the virtual option and complete the race when you are able.
NO. All participants are required to pick up their own packet during scheduled Packet Pick-Up hours. Individuals will NOT be able to pick up packets on behalf of others. This includes friends and family members. Only parents may pick up packets for their children under the age of 18. There will be no exceptions made to these rules. Please plan accordingly.
NO. Each participant must have his/her own registration to participate in the run. In the event of an emergency, race officials must have emergency contact information on hand, therefore you are NOT allowed to participate using someone else’s registration. There are NO exceptions to this policy.
The Turner Trot, like many other races, has a long-standing policy that does NOT provide any refunds. We apologize for any inconvenience. All race entries for the Turner Trot are non-transferable under any and all circumstances. We apologize for any inconvenience.
The Turner Trot will make every effort to provide a run shirt in the size runners request when registering. Please understand that we order the shirts months in advance and we estimate the sizes based on current registration. Please note there are unisex & youth sizes. These shirts are for participants only and will not be sold to the general public. If you would like to exchange t-shirt sizes, you can try to do so if there are extra shirts on race morning.
YES. All registered participants will receive a finisher medal upon crossing the finish line. If you do not participate in the race for any reason, your medal WILL NOT be mailed to you.
Yes, we will have awards for the top finishers.
The Finisher Festival hours are TBD.
We will provide instructions for nearby parking lots but public transportation or ride share is highly encouraged.

As a Virtual Runner you are given the opportunity to participate in the event remotely & still receive your shirt and finisher medal.
Sign up as a Virtual Runner via our registration page and go for a run on race day wherever you are located. Your well-deserved Shirt, Finisher Medal, will be mailed to you approximately two (2) weeks AFTER race day.
Virtual Runners can run anywhere in the world, however the Virtual Runner registration fee only includes shipping of your shirt, finisher medal, to an address located in the United States.
The Virtual Runner registration will close on August 28th or until sold out. Once Virtual Runner registration is closed, you may NOT sign up to run virtually nor may you transfer to this option if you can no longer attend the event. If for some reason you are registered to be physically present to run the event and are unable to attend due to a last-minute conflict or emergency, we will NOT be able to mail you your race items. Note that all virtual runner materials, including t-shirt and medal will be sent after race day. You will NOT receive your materials prior to the race.
Anyone is eligible to register as a Virtual Runner.
Yes, but you must complete the switch PRIOR August 7th. We will not be able to switch your race after that date.
No, Virtual Runners will NOT be allowed to switch to the live run on-site or pick up their items here as they will be shipped later.
